STEM School Community

The Academy for Science and Design (ASD), a STEM-focused public Charter school that opened its doors to students in 2007, is New Hampshire’s top performing and largest STEM specialty school.  Now in its 11th year of operation, ASD continues to strengthen and expand students’ interests and abilities in STEM fields.

ASD has a student enrollment of 525 in grades 6-12.  The high school program has 268 students, and the Class of 2019 had 44 seniors.

  • 2017 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence

  • Top 50 ranked Public High School in America (Newsweek, 2015 & 2016)

  • US News and World Reports Rank # 1 Public High School in NH (2018 & 2019)

  • Mastery of course content required before advancement, as evidenced by assessment at 80% or higher

  • Program emphasizing rigorous writing and communication skills across the STEM curriculum

  • Student performance on National standardized tests consistently exceeds state and national averages

  • 94% of the graduating seniors earned a STEM and/or Arts commendation through NH Scholars

  • 83% of graduating students pursuing STEM majors in post-secondary studies
